This depends on the specific condition that’s being treated and varies from patient to patient. For some conditions, patients may report feeling better after a few days. In other cases, it may take 3 to 12 months before symptoms are reduced.
Because patient outcomes can also vary based on nutrition and lifestyle choices, it’s important to follow post-treatment recommendations from our physicians. Doing so can help make stem cell therapy as effective as possible even weeks and months after treatment.
Some patients (up to 30 to 40 percent) may not respond to treatment Although the reasons for treatment response are unknown, patient outcomes seem to vary based on a patient’s lifestyle choices and diet.

How does cell therapy work for treating TBI and CTE?
​
The body uses a natural source of regenerative cells to help replace older, damaged, and diseased cells in the brain and nervous system. Unfortunately, the number of these cells declines as we age. Cell therapy stimulates the body’s natural healing process to repair damaged tissue and neurons, reduce neuroinflammation, and relieve pain from both traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)

Can I expect any pain from my procedure?
​
Cells are infused in an intravenous (IV) drip. Some patients may notice minor pain common to a needle injection, while others report no pain at all during the procedure. After the procedure, some patients may report feeling pain, but that pain normally lasts about 24 hours. In such cases, patients may be given pain medication that does not interfere with the cell therapy.

Is cell therapy safe?
​
In general, yes. Research shows that cell therapy offers a high level of safety with little risk of side effects, but there may be exceptions. BioXcellerator takes great care to review each patient’s medical history before treatment. If any issues raise concerns about safety, we’ll help address those issues before treatment.

Are BioXcellerator procedures covered by insurance?
​
Typically, no. If your insurance company does not cover cell therapy, we do offer financing options for our treatments.

Current U.S. FDA regulations do not allow the cells we use to be cultured and expanded into infusions with a high quantity of the type of cells we use.
